Purses-What do we do with them and What would we do without them.

My first Etsy Sale!

Oh, happy day! I got my first Etsy sale today! I'm so excited. My hubby says "we're rolling in the money now". :)
Now it's just the matter of getting it boxed and shipped. I'm always nervous shipping my glass. Although I wrap things well, double box and cushion, you never know with the Post Office or any other shipping company for that matter. Sometimes I think they just like to see if they can break your items no matter what you do. And then of course, all that boxing, cushioning doesn't make for pretty packaging. But I'm just happy if it get's there safe and sound and the buyer enjoys it.
Anyway let's all celebrate! Maybe more sales are on the way.

Butterflies

I was out checking all my plants after watering them after our light freeze night before last. Got them all uncovered. And as I watered my Rosemary and Salvia I noticed the rosemary was covered with blooms, bees and butterflies! Ran and got my camera and was finally able to get a couple of shots of the butterflies.

I do organic gardening and don't use chemicals, plus we do wildlife management here on our property. So I'm always looking for Texas native/adaptable plants that will draw in the birds, bees, butterflies, and other wildlife into our pastures and our yard. So I was happy to see some of the butterflies still here even after our cold front the last few days. Hope you enjoy the pictures.

Brrr! It's cold outside.

Ok, I know for most of you it's really cold. But here in Texas we're just not used to 30's at night and 40-50's during the day with the wind blowing about 25-30 miles an hour. I could take the cooler weather, if the wind just wouldn't blow.
Anyway, with the cold, comes the wildlife out. We had a nice big 8 point buck out back at the water trough this a.m. And some turkey tracks in the rain puddles in the road. They don't like their picture taken, however.

I've got a cute terra cotta mosaic bird feeder and some cute little windchimes and garden twirlers. The garden twirlers are a little difficult to picture, but it's 3 diamond shaped slumped pieces of art glass that have holes drilled in them and attached to each other with fishing line and then they're all attached to a small piece of drift wood found on my ranch property. It has a chain attached to it for hanging. I have a purple one on etsy right now and have a beige one ready to list when I can get some good Pics.

Fused Dr. Pepper Bottle Windchime

Well, got the Dr. Pepper windchime listed tonight. It's really cute. It's made from the Dr. Pepper bottles with the Dr. Pepper made with Pure Imperial Cane Sugar. It will make a cute gift especially for the Dr. Pepper drinker.

Hopefully it will get me my first sale in my etsy shop.

Dancing with the Stars

Hi all, watching Dancing with the Stars while working on some paperwork and some glass ideas. They all seem to be doing well. Hoping my paperwork and glasswork goes as well.

Got asked about doing an interview on another blog. Should be fun.
Plus got in as VIP for the new etsy advertising site. Working up my posts and ad. Anxious for it to get going, hopefully in time to get us some good sales for the next month or two.

New glass in the works

Got to fire some glass today. Am working on some purse hangers. And got some pictures of one of my windchimes. It's Dr. Pepper. Hoping to get it loaded tonight. Also have a regular glass windchime I'm getting pictures of to get listed on one of my sites.

Still struggling with my pictures. I either have too much glare, too blurry, or something. Hubby got out his tripod for me to try and see if that helps. Need to find the book on my camera and see if I have a macro setting. Although with the windchimes the problem is they won't stay still unless I lay them down on something. Every time I think I'm going to get a good picture, I look and one or two of the bottles has turned and you can't see them. Oh well.
