I love decorating my plants, pots, garden.  This is my newest listing in my Etsy shop, KayzKreationz  It is a polymer clay Lily flower, with Yellow, Orange, Green Dyed Howlite beads and Copper wire tendrils on a Copper Wire plant stake.  Some people call them plant stakes, pokes.  I like to call the Plant charmers.  Because they just add "charm" to your plants and pots.  This listing is for both and includes free shipping.  So if you're looking to "accessorize" your plants and pots, check it out here: Lily Beaded Plant charmer  It's jewelry for your plants.

Saturday Blog Shoppers Deals

Since it's spring and so many of us are doing things to spruce up our yards and gardens for spring, I thought I'd have my little Ladybug plant stake as this Saturday's Blog Shoppers Deal.  They look so cute sitting in the pot with your plants.  They really dress them up.  The only one left is the orange transparent one.  You can check it out here in KayzKreationz.  And remember this is the only one left, so hurry and get your ladybug before it flies away!  LOL
And for more Stained Glass, Mosaics and Fused Glass for your home check out the rest of my shop.  Hopefully I'll be getting a bunch more things listed in the next week or two, so either sign up for my newsletter on the left or keep watching my blog and shop for new items.
"Ladybug, ladybug, fly away home..."  to your home that is.  Be sure to get yours.

New Listings coming to Etsy for spring

I love spring. The grass is getting green, the trees and flowers are budding and blooming. The birds, butterflies and bees are returning. And I get the urge to get my garden weeded, back in shape, planted, etc. My grandmother had a green thumb and was always working in her yard and garden. She loved having feeders out for the birds. My grandfather even managed to tame/train a wild squirrel to come down out of the trees, come up on his porch and eat right out of his hands. I guess that's where I get it. So with my glass, I have a tendency to create things that decorate my yard and garden or help the wildlife in some way. In both my shops on Etsy and Artfire, I have things for just that purpose. My plant stakes decorate your garden and your potted plants. My birdfeeders can be used for that purpose or even as shallow bird baths or butterfly baths. Butterflies need shallow baths and these small terra cotta feeders are just right for that purpose, too. My windchimes decorate, twist and chime in the wind for your enjoyment. Even my garden twirlers add a touch of whimsy to your garden. So keep and eye out for some great new items for your yard and garden coming soon to KayzKreationz.

Love to Sew? Love to Decorate? Check out Today's Shop

I used to sew. Check out BrickHouseFabrics for some great novelty fabrics for your decorating needs. They carry an extensive line of fabrics in all kinds of prints for everyone's tastes and favorites. You can see a couple in the box to the right and here's another one of my favorites. Maybe because I love Nature things. Our feathered Friends-Ways they use their feathers and Ways we use their feathers.

Feathers have so many uses. Our feathered friends need them for a variety of reasons. Feathers insulate birds from water and cold temperatures. They may also be plucked to line the nest and provide insulation to the eggs and young. The individual feathers in the wings and tail play important roles in controlling flight.
Color patterns serve as camouflage against predators for birds in their habitats, and by predators looking for a meal. As with fish, the top and bottom colors may be different to provide camouflage during flight.

But they also provide us with many uses. Feathers are both soft and excellent at trapping heat; thus, they are sometimes used in high-class bedding, especially pillows, blankets, and mattresses. They are also used as filling for winter clothing, such as quilted coats and sleeping bags. They've even been used for arrows, to decorate fishing lures and to make quill pens. And during the 18th, 19th, and even 20th Centuries a booming international trade developed in plumes/feathers to satisfy market demand in North America and Europe for extravagant head-dresses as adornment for fashionable women. Now we can even use them to keep our plants warm as shown in these pictures on my flickr page and even just for fun in our house as this suncatcher shows. (Who hasn't heard of the 'Red Hat Society'? This is my stained glass tribute to them.

And for other ways to decorate ourselves, check out http://stringandstones.etsy.com/ or http://kayzkreationz.etsy.com/ or http://kayzkreationz.artfire.com/ and check out the shop of the day for more feathered ideas. http://gaiatrovechicago.etsy.com/

New Featured Shop of the Day

The newest shop of the day is: http://shupg.etsy.com

Butterflies

I was out checking all my plants after watering them after our light freeze night before last. Got them all uncovered. And as I watered my Rosemary and Salvia I noticed the rosemary was covered with blooms, bees and butterflies! Ran and got my camera and was finally able to get a couple of shots of the butterflies.

I do organic gardening and don't use chemicals, plus we do wildlife management here on our property. So I'm always looking for Texas native/adaptable plants that will draw in the birds, bees, butterflies, and other wildlife into our pastures and our yard. So I was happy to see some of the butterflies still here even after our cold front the last few days. Hope you enjoy the pictures.
