Transform Socks into Wrist Warmers

I'm very cold natured.  And I love gloves, leg warmers, etc.  So when I saw this post by Little Treasures to make socks into Wrist Warmers, I had to check it out.  I LOVE this idea.  My hands and arms are always cold.  Plus sometimes you just can't wear gloves and get done what you need to.  These are adorable and so easy to make.  Plus they look very feminine.  I can't wait to try it out and make several pairs for me and as gifts for friends and family.  You'll love it too.  Be sure to check out the original post on Little Treasures blog.  She's got some other great ideas:
When I saw these beige - gray speckled socks I knew I had to have them. They are kids' size but that was exactly what I needed for this project.  This is a simple tutorial how to transform socks into wrist-warmers.

You need a pair of socks.  Cut off the toes part.  Turn the sock with the heel part upwards.  Gather the part where the heel is, pin it and hand stitch it.

Add a decorative button. Add some lace or ribbon.  This is important.  You have to insert a tailor's ham inside before you stitch the lace.  If you don't have a tailor's ham insert another pair of socks or a small pillow.  Something that will expand the sock. Then (hand) stitch the lace.  Your new, fabulous wrist warmers. These also make a nice last minute gift and you can make them in less than 15 minutes.

Don't you just love these?

Saturday Blog Shoppers Deals

Well it's that time again.  Another Saturday Blog Shoppers.  I almost didn't participate this week as I've been so busy finishing up my volunteer work, working on 2 different mosaic projects for tutorials and getting ready for a week's vacation with my oldest son and his wife.  But just quickly check out this great little Jasper Pendant, wire-wrapped in copper.  I love Jasper and Copper so this is a favorite of mine.  Hope you like it too.  And don't forget to check out the other great Saturday Blogs with shopping deals by clicking on the button to the right.  Happy Shopping.

WooHoo-"Ocean Meets the Sky" sold

I'm always excited when I make a sale in my Etsy shop, KayzKreationz. (I have an Artfire shop also, but no sales there yet. KayzKreationz there also.) But at the same time, I'm always a little sad. I love everything I make with my glass and always feel like a little part of me is leaving when I ship something out. But it always makes me feel good to think that someone else loved my glass enough, too, that they just couldn't live without it. So with a sad, but happy at the same time, I big a fond farewell to this adorable little suncatcher. I hope you enjoy your new home. And I hope your new owner enjoys you as much as I enjoyed making you. Sooo, in the words of this great song, "So long, farewell, Auf Wiedersehen, Good-night (good-bye)" Adieu little "Ocean Meets the Sky" fused glass and seashell Suncatcher.
And if you're looking for something unique for yourself, a loved one or friend, be sure to check out either one of my shops, KayzKreationz on Etsy or KayzKreationz on Artfire, for Stained Glass, Mosaics and Fused Glass items for your home or garden.  And if you want to know what's new and happening with me, my blog, my glass or my shops, you can follow me on twitter: KayzKreationz or sign up for my newsletter on the left.

Beaded Bookmarks, Little Red Fused Bowl and other things all Glass

Little Red Fused Glass Bowl
Within the last 2 days I've been contacted about 2 different items in my Etsy shop: KayzKreationz being featured on blogs. I love the Etsy community and the fact that most are so willing to help others. My first item featured is my Little Red Fused Glass Bowl. This has so many different uses. You can put it on your dresser/nightstand to hold your rings, jewelry and other things. It can hold a small candle for a romantic feel, it can be used for a small candy dish. See how many other uses you can think of for it and then treat Silver and Turquoise Beaded Bookmarkyourself by purchasing it to use or as a gift. :)
My second item is my Silver and Turquoise beaded bookmark. I love reading and like unique ways to mark my place. So this bookmark came about. It's just the right size for a small book. But you could use it to mark a recipe in a cookbook or other things. It too would make a great gift for that book lover you know, whether it's you or someone else.
Be sure to check out KayzKreationz for other great Stained Glass, Mosaics and Fused Glass items for your home and garden, too. I make all kinds of things from glass and they make great gifts for yourself or someone else.

Support Handmade

There's a movement going on Etsy right now to help support Handmade/Handcrafted items. It's called 30on30. It's very simple. To help support handmade items and artists you simply spend $30.00 on November 30th. (Or whatever you can). It's a great way to help support these artists or even your local economy instead of the big box stores like Wal-Mart, K-Mart, Target and others. Plus you get something really unique for yourself or as a gift for someone else. And usually these items last much longer than anything you'd buy in the stores and often become things handed down from generation to generation. Plus it gives you or your recipient a special joy knowing it was handmade/handcrafted and you picked it out or had it customized just the way you wanted. If you're interested in helping support your handmade community, whether local or worldwide, search for "30on30" on Etsy and see what wonderful things you come up with. For instance, I make Stained Glass, Mosaics and Fused Glass items for your home and garden. You won't find anything like this Birdfeeder in your local Wal-Mart. Or this great little Romantic Blue Plate in Pier One or BedBathandBeyond. So check out my shop: KayzKreationz or the many other great handmade items on Etsy now or this Monday and help support Handmade/Handcrafted with 30on30.

Neatostuff Great Marketing Exchange

Time for the next site on the Neatostuff Great Marketing Exchange. It's a cute little shop with the cutest little baby tutu's and a gift certificate if you're not quite sure what you want.

Let's all support the great shops at Etsy.

And while you're there don't forget to check out my shop for stained glass, mosaics, and fused glass. Looking for that unique gift for a gardening, bird feeding friend? I've got a cute terra cotta mosaic bird feeder and some cute little windchimes and garden twirlers. The garden twirlers are a little difficult to picture, but it's 3 diamond shaped slumped pieces of art glass that have holes drilled in them and attached to each other with fishing line and then they're all attached to a small piece of drift wood found on my ranch property. It has a chain attached to it for hanging. I have a purple one on etsy right now and have a beige one ready to list when I can get some good Pics.
