Hey there. I'm really glad you enjoyed the post (and the pics). I hope others will enjoy it, too. It really struck a chord with me, also... missing horses from my past.
Horses are such gorgeous and elegant creatures! I've always wanted one, but have never even ridden one. :(
jac, if you ever get the chance, take it. It's great fun.
I grew up riding before I could walk, and spent all the days of my childhood riding a horse in the Snohomish valley, crossing rivers, writing poetry. That way of life has vanished, it's so developed around here. I had a very close bond with my horses, a horse I bought and raised from a weanling was shot up in the mountains on a ride and killed. His name was Prince, and I will miss him forever.
