Do you Handwrite Thank you Notes to your Customers?

There's been so much discussion on Etsy, (where I have a Stained Glass, Glass Mosaics and Fused Glass shop, KayzKreationz) about being sure to put a little handwritten thank you note in with a customer's purchase, that it made me wonder. Just how important do people think a handwritten note is to their customers? And if it is important, how many people actually do it? So in honor of that question, I posted a poll on the right to get people's opinions about handwritten notes sent with purchases. Please take my poll to help me determine just how important this is. The results will be posted in a future blog post with some other interesting information that may help many of us. Thanks in advance. Kay

I write one, but am not sure whether it is important to my customers. In all cases except one, I have not heard either way!

I haven't ever heard either jac, but I was just curious what all of us thought as either buyers or sellers. Thanks for your thoughts.

I always handwrite a note - and it feels imortant for me. Some of my customers have commented about it in an appreciative way.

Thanks River. I always write a note, too, just because I know I appreciate it when I get a thank you for something. I haven't had any of my customers say anything about it either way though.

very interesting topic Kay-I'd like to also add "thank you" notes to the equation. There are colleagues/vendors/clients that we sent Christmas gifts to-who have yet to even acknowledge receipt via email/text/anything!

Jennifer, that is so true. It's really a courtesy to reply to someone that you've received something. And it shows your appreciation, whether they be a buyer or seller. And I like "handwritten" thank you notes, because to me it's more personal and means you really appreciate it.

It's something i do wonder... but there are so many other things i do with my customers prints to make them just that little more special and "considered", like giftwrap each piece... i guess it's a nice thing to do really, i know when i recieve hand written notes it always puts a smile on my face, so maybe doing it for the sake of it in kindness is worth it. depends on how busy you are i guess! i can only imagine how hard it'd be for someone who makes a million orders a day!
